Youth Eman Crisis

Are you looking for ways to improve your children’s behavior? Perhaps you’re struggling to get them to pray or memorize Quran. Maybe you’d like your family to be more centered around Islam whether you are just beginning your journey, have been striving for many years or already experienced in guidance. It's important to continue our Eman development and to teach and advise future generations. We can not take Islam for granted.

As we look around our Ummah today we see incredible achievements, we see Muslims in all elements of public life around the world from politicians to comedians, actors, models, professional athletes and more. We have masajids popping up in all corners of the globe from northern Canada to Italy, the heart of Catholicism, to Australia. From a wide focus Islam is spreading and growing but when we move in closer and take a deeper look at the state of our families especially, children, we see a growing problem. A 2017 Pew Research Center survey of U.S. found estimate (24%) of the share of those who were raised Muslim but have left Islam. https://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2018/01/26/the-share-of-americans-who-leave-islam-is-offset-by-those-who-become-muslim/

This is not unique to the U.S. but similar statistics can be found all over the world. We often reassure ourselves that Islam is the fastest growing religion which statistically is true through birth rate and conversions but sadly conversions are balancing out born Muslims apostatizing. ”Islam can point to little in the way of recent conversions. Its claim to be the world’s fastest-growing religion stems mostly from the high birth rate in Islamic countries, whose infant mortality rates have been cut by the introduction of Western medicine. Christian growth is based on adult conversion. As leading Christian evangelist Wolfgang Simpson writes, “More Muslims have come to Christ in the last two decades than in all of history.” https://pjmedia.com/blog/muslims-leaving-islam-in-droves/

These are troubling realities we need to address as an Ummah, but it is not unpredicted.

The messenger of Allah said: "It is near that the nations will call one another against you just as the eaters call one another to their dishes." Somebody asked: "Is this because we will be few in numbers that day?" He said: "Nay, but that day you shall be numerous, but you will be like the foam of the sea, and Allah will take the fear of you away from your enemies and will place weakness into your hearts." Somebody asked: "What is this weakness?" He said: "The love of the world and the dislike of death." (Abu Daud). These are the times we live in. Our ummah is under attack as we are dazzled by the distractions of this world.

The Solutions is to learn and teach Islam according to the Quran and Sunnah.
Success depends on Allah. It is only through obedience to that we can be truly successful.

Allah reminds us success is only attained through Him. If we rely on our own powers neglecting Allah we will fail.

The battle of Hunayn is example for us to ponder.

“Allah has already given you victory in many regions and [even] on the day of Hunayn, when your great number pleased you, but it did not avail you at all, and the earth was confining for you with its vastness; then you turned back, fleeing.  Then Allah sent down His tranquility upon His Messenger and upon the believers and sent down soldiers angels whom you did not see and punished those who disbelieved. And that is the recompense of the disbelievers.” Quran 9:25 -26
